As The Garden Grows

Chapter 41

Amy: Thrills

Amy and Metal go on their first date after reuniting.

Length: 6,626 words

AMY

This was the one!!! I could feel it!!!

This date would be the one I come up with myself where nothing goes wrong! We had so much to talk about, so much to catch up on. A lot of serious stuff... But not today! I was going to have at least one day with Metal that was fun, cute, exciting, and romantic, and the whole world could burn down for all I care.

Okay, that was a lie. I didn't want anything to burn down. But I wanted his heart to be set aflame! We would have a perfect time outside, and then we'd go to either my house or the old base and I would be all over him until we both got totally sick of it. An even better alternative: he'd be all over me. I wanted to make him so smitten that puppy love would be ashamed of itself.

"Why are you making that face?" Metal asked me.

Oops. I think I was making an evil grin. "I'm thinking about all the fun we'll have today!"

I held his hand as we walked down the sidewalk together. He was in a disguise that made him look like a normal hedgehog, though his own personal style couldn't help but show through. His quills were kinda like his Neo form, though they were much shorter. He had white streaks on his quills and around his red eyes; I thought it was really pretty! He also had a semi-permanent scowl until he looked at me. It was like a switch; he would stare ahead and glare, but then he looked at me and the sharp edges of his expression vanished. I would say the only thing that strayed from his actual appearance was that he gave himself more of a purple tint than a blue one; maybe he worried the deep blue would be too recognizable on top of all the other details.

I loved the clothes he gave himself, too. He wore a black coat that obscured most of his body except for his large back quills and the cutest tail where the coat itself split in the back. He also had a dark belt and some really nice looking red boots to call back to his usual look. His gloves were white too and they had cute clawed ends. I kinda liked that he kept some of his sharpness in his disguise. Even his nose was still kinda pointy.

He glanced at me, then glanced away. "... Am I acting strange?" he asked.

I giggled. "No, I was just looking at you. Just be yourself."

"I'm not used to this," he said with a sigh. "Rosy... What if we see one of your allies?"

"They'll have no idea," I said, smiling. Except Rouge. God, I needed to tell him about that later. "... Damn. We need to come up with a name for you to use around others."

"Everyone except you should address me as Neo," he said, turning his nose up in the air.

I smiled with a roll of my eyes. "It's a nice name, but you definitely can't use that in this form."

He scratched the side of his head with his free hand. "I don't truly know... What name would you use?"

"Something like... Nova, probably..." I cleared my throat.

He squinted at me. "You dare call me the name of a child?"

"It's not like my friends know their name!"

"I'll think about this further... The plan is to not come across any of your allies, in any case," he mumbled. "... I will finally ask: where are we going?"

"It's a surprise! You'll see!" I beamed.

I took him down some different streets until we came to an open area with lots of trees. There was a huge parking lot, and then right over there was the entrance-- there was my favorite amusement park!! We could see a few huge roller coasters on the horizon, a big ferris wheel, so many colors and attractions! We were here right as it opened too, so there weren't any lines!

I eagerly picked up my pace and kinda dragged Metal with me as we approached the ticket gates. Metal watched me, then peered at the attractions we could see in the distance.

"You've always wanted to go to an amusement park with me?" he asked with a curious tone.

"It's like, a traditional date spot... I want us to walk around together, play some games, try some rides~" I giggled. "There's a few romantic rides too..."

"Romantic rides?"

I went up to the ticket booth and bought us both day passes. He didn't let go of my hand the whole time, even when we were around a lot of people. That made me so happy...! "We'll do the romantic rides later. We need to get our blood flowing first!" I said, pumping one of my fists.

I eagerly dragged him into the park. There was so much excitement and color everywhere that I didn't know where to begin!! Should we do something low energy first, or jump right into a roller coaster? I wanted to give a good first impression of the park...

"Is this the same park in which you threw up after--"

I cut him off with a groan. "You remembered that letter?!" Sometimes I wrote so much randomly vulnerable stuff in my letters! I wrote plenty about amusement parks because I went to them all the time...

"I remember every letter," he said with a single nod. "You wrote how excited you were for the new roller coaster that you made yourself sick on accident. I suppose you did want to go to one with your secret admirer, now that I think about the letter again." He smiled as we walked; I think he was trying to keep himself from laughing. Seeing his expressions this way really did a number on me...

My face felt so hot. "M...Maybe this is the same park! But I don't plan to get sick. Let's start with, ummm..." I went over to a stand that had a large image of the park's map. "Ahhh...! I want to do everything!" I pulled my quills with my free hand.

"How about this one?" He pointed to a roller coaster titled 'The Slipstream Devil'. Somehow I expected him to pick something like that.

I grinned. "Is it because of the name?"

"Yes. I want to know what a ride would be to have a name like that."

He was already too cute; I could barely handle him. I kissed him on the cheek and guided him towards the middle of the park, over to our first roller coaster. "Let's go, then!"

I noticed Metal was looking pretty much everywhere while we walked together, like he was cautious and waiting for something to happen. I realized he hadn't been in many areas with so many people without being, like... an enemy.

"Are you alright?" I asked. He was probably having a hard time relaxing. I hoped he could calm down more after we spent some time having fun.

He looked at me and slowly nodded his head. "I've never seen this place from the ground," he muttered. "I suppose... this is the first time I've gone to a place so public for the sole purpose of having fun." He averted his eyes. "I do enjoy racing, but there was always some kind of caveat with that. Monitoring my adversaries or obtaining powerful items for my Master."

"Ughh... I'm still so sorry about our racing date," I said with a sigh. "I wish that would've been just us."

He shook his head, smiling at me. It was so weird how his expressions were how I always imagined them whenever he looked at me. "Don't be. I enjoyed racing... And I enjoyed watching you." He brought his focus forward as we approached the line for our first roller coaster ride. "Since I have a proper disguise... maybe we could try again with less complications."

I gasped. "Ooh! That would be fun. We have to do a bunch of races to see who the real victor is."

"Me," we both said at the same time.

I laughed and playfully bumped his side with mine. Our conversation came to a lull as we waited for our turn on the roller coaster. Luckily, we'd only have to wait a few minutes to get on-- and I wanted the front seats! I was happy we could spend that time together, though... Honestly, even if the line was super long, I'd be happy.

Metal kept glancing at me and looking away. I looked back at him; his cheeks were flushed. Aww!

"Something on your mind?" I asked. Even me just asking that made his face even more red.

"You're very pretty," he replied, quiet. "You're even more vibrant in the natural sunlight."

"... You're lucky we're in public," I huffed, blushing too.

"Why?"

"Because I'd be all over you for saying such sweet things to me." I touched his chin with my free hand and basically watched him crumble. He was adorable. He tightened his hold on my hand and stood as stiff as a wall. Rouge had a point... he was kinda fun to mess with.

Our turn came! The 'Slipstream Devil' was a slick blue roller coaster with tons of twists and turns. I was so excited! Each section of the coaster was big enough for two people; I shuffled in first, then Metal followed me. We let go of each other when I pulled the lap bars down to cover us both.

"Okay, temper your expectations," I started. "These are fast for me and like, other people, maybe not for you."

"Is it faster than a car?" he asked, raising one of his brows as he examined the front.

"Yeah! Uh..." I thought for a second. "Well, actually, I'm not sure. Just...!" Oh, no. I was suddenly worried this wouldn't be very impressive.

I glanced at him and he was grinning. Man, I was the one getting flustered... He moved close enough in the seat so that our hips were pressed together. I liked how warm he felt beside me...

"You shouldn't be concerned, Rosy," he said in a light tone. "I am happy to spend time with you, regardless if this ride is pathetic or not." He suddenly scowled. "I would be disgusted if it could compare to me."

I laughed. "Nothing could compare to you, cutie."

His eyes widened, then he gave such a smug look, rubbing his nose and blushing. "Thank you," he said. After a brief moment, he went back to scowling. He was clearly frustrated by something.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I want to embrace you, but we are too exposed."

That one made me cackle instead. "Don't worry, we'll have the chance on those romantic rides."

His grumpiness vanished instantly. He lightly tapped his fingers against the lap bar and sat there way more politely than I expected from him. "I suppose I will wait, then," he quietly replied.

A buzzer went off and the roller coaster started to move. I wiggled excitedly. It's been a little while since I got to ride a roller coaster! We slowly rose up to the top of the incline, and since we were in the front, we saw the entire vibrant, light blue sky. There were beautifully white and puffy clouds.

"... This is extremely slow," Metal mumbled.

"The ride hasn't started yet," I said, playfully bumping his elbow with mine. "We have to build all that momentum first. The ride is mostly gravity."

"Oh." He tilted his head a little. "There is a lot of waiting on what's supposed to be a thrill..."

"You're so impatient!" I laughed. "Oh-- here! We're about to turn over." As soon as the track tipped us over, I threw my hands in the air.

We went barreling down the track at what felt like an intense speed. I laughed; screams of other people were in the cars behind us. The track twisted us around, and then we went down even further, going up into a huge loop and shooting us around a corner. I held onto my headband to make sure it wasn't gonna fly off; we went through another bump, then twisted again before looping around to the start.

Metal didn't make a sound the entire time, but funnily enough, he didn't seem bothered either. His eyes were closed while the wind whipped against him until the end of the ride. He glared and checked all around us; I didn't know what made him suddenly tense again.

As the ride ended, the lap bar unlocked and allowed us to leave. I took Metal's hand again and walked out with him. While he did follow me, he was looking around, staring at the different light posts around the park.

"We're being watched," he growled out.

"Why do you think that?" I asked with a brow raised.

He glared back at the coaster. "I heard a sequence of clicks during the last drop of the ride."

"Huh?" I thought for a minute... Oh! I laughed. "Did you hear a camera?" I asked.

"Likely. Why are you amused?"

I tugged him along to a booth as we exit the ride. There were photos of all the people on the roller coaster, available for us to buy. "Some of the roller coasters take pictures so we can see what we looked like during the ride!" I giggled as I looked at the one of us. "You look so relaxed!" Meanwhile, I had my arms up and was yelling with excitement.

"... Oh." Metal examined the photo on the screen for a while, and shortly after, he calmed down. "The ride was not unlike flying. I found it somewhat soothing."

I went up to the worker at the booth and bought two photos of me and Metal on the coaster. Afterwards, I gave one of them to him. "Now we have a physical memory! Our first roller coaster ride together."

Metal stared at the photo for a while longer, then he put it in his pocket, his cheeks lightly flushed. "Did you enjoy yourself?" he asked, his focus back on me.

I nodded, smiling wide. "I had tons of fun. Let's wander around and see what else catches our eye!"

I was right; as we spent more time in the park together, Metal became way less tense. There was a chao themed ride we went on next; it wasn't nearly as exciting, but it was super cute and I loved dark and broody Metal in the midst of all those pastel colors. Near the ride was a cardboard stand of a hero chao with its face missing, so you could poke your own head through. I called for Metal when I did:

"How do I look?" I asked with a goofy grin.

He gave the biggest smile that day. It made me want to melt! Ahh! "Ridiculous," he said.

I puffed my cheeks at him and pouted, making him smile more. He covered his mouth to hide it. Man, I was so excited to go on this date that I completely forgot to bring anything that could take pictures. I wondered if Metal could upload photos from his brain or something. I eagerly rejoined him and grabbed his free hand, taking him down the walkway.

Afterwards, we came across some bumper cars and I was so interested in how into it he would get. One of the simpler rides, just simply bumping each other, ended making him cackle as he rammed his car into everything, especially mine. His desire for violence translated to funnily harmless things!

When we got off the ride, he didn't acknowledge all the fun he had. "That ride was flimsy. I could break the car by tightening my grip."

I laughed. "You had a lot of practice ramming into cars from actual races, huh?"

"A small warm-up for the next time we face off," he teased.

I was reaching my threshold with him, so it was time for us to go into one of the romantic rides. There was a two-seat water ride aptly described as the 'Love Tunnel'. Metal squinted as he noticed water deeper into the tunnel.

"It won't take us underwater," I told him.

"... I knew that..."

We sat together, and the ride took us into a deep, dark tunnel, full with all the cute hearts, stars, glitter you would expect from these rides. There was dim pink lighting, quiet, soothing music, and the rushing of water that took us down a dark, man-made river. I've never been on this ride before even though I've been to this park plenty of times...

I snuggled up close to Metal. "This ride is really slow on purpose, so we can just relax and spend time with each other," I said, wagging my tail.

He put one arm around me and used his other to gently tilt my head up and match his gaze. There was a glint in his eyes really familiar to me... I felt so loved. I thought he was going to kiss me... Admittedly, I kinda prepared for it, closing my eyes and leaning in.

"H... How do you kiss with a mouth?' he asked, quiet.

I opened my eyes and blinked. "Oh...! Yeah, uh..." I giggled, blushing. I did kinda just kiss him on the mouth before without giving him much time to react. "It's not too different. Just follow what I do."

I leaned in and gently kissed him first. I was so used to how we kissed normally that a 'real' mouth-to-mouth kiss was a little weird... but I liked it a lot too. I especially loved his reaction. He was a little tense at first, but I felt his shoulders relax and he let out a relieved breath after, leaning back against me.

Our mouths slowly parted. My heart was pounding. I let out a small, breath-filled laugh. "That was pretty g--"

He kissed me again, holding my head to his and pressing against me more than before. H-he got a handle of the kissing real quick... I grabbed onto his coat to pull him in and I hooked one of my legs with his. As one kiss ended, another quickly began. He leaned over me and let out a sound that would make me fry a circuit if I was a robot. I suddenly wished we were back at my house or his base so we could just do this for the next hour.

We parted and I had to catch my breath. I was so hot that it was unreal.

"Rosy..." The way he said my name was killing me. "I love you," he continued in his soft tone. I was going to die, I really was.

"I love you too," I replied in the most pathetic voice ever. I felt so weak. I wanted to be even closer.

He clearly noticed my tone and chuckled. "You sound cute," he said. "I want more."

Oh my God. He could have all he wanted. We kissed again and I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. We got lost in each other's embrace; I don't think either of us looked outside the ride even once. He leaned against me in a way that had me slant over in our seat.

I noticed the tunnel getting brighter; I opened my eyes and glanced--

"G-get off! Get off!" I said, hushed, trying to push him off of me. He eventually righted himself in the seat, allowing me to as well. My face was on fire as I fixed my dress and re-straightened my quills. We were right at the end of the tunnel and about to go back out!

"The ride was too fast," he grumbled. I would make fun of him, but I honestly felt the same.

When we were out of the tunnel, his face was as red as mine felt. We were both basically tomatoes at this point. He looked so grumpy, which made me giggle. His expression immediately lightened up and he gently touched one of the quills near my shoulder.

We walked together hand-in-hand to go see what else we could try out. Metal's focus was solely on me; he was completely relaxed and didn't seem to care we were surrounded by other people. I glanced at his tail and it was wagging the whole time. Ohhh my God, there was no way someone like him was real.

After a few more fun rides, we decided to take a brief break. I was getting hungry from all the walking around, so we got some way-too-expensive amusement park food. I asked him if he wanted anything, but he said no, so I just got a burger and some fries. We sat at a little table with an umbrella for shade and I dug right in.

He was staring at my food an awful lot for someone who didn't want food. I smirked at him. "Want one?" I asked, gesturing to the fries.

"That's yours," he said, raising his hand slightly in dismissal. "... Though I am confident I can make a better meal than this."

I chuckled. "Yeah, but it doesn't hurt to have some junk once in a while." I watched him for a little longer and noticed his focus on the food did not let up. I rolled my eyes while smiling, then waved a fry in his face. "Come on, try it."

He crossed his arms. "I said it's yo-" I stuck it in his mouth while he talked. He gave me an intense glare, but he ate the fry anyway, making me laugh more.

... He took another one. I grinned and pushed the basket of fries a little closer to him. "I think it tastes better when we share," I sweetly told him.

"Fine, I accept your offer," he said with an airy huff, eating the second fry without any hassle.

"So, what kind of meal do you want me to make for that special dinner date? What kind of flavors do you think you'll like?"

"I trust your judgment," he said, his cheeks flushing. He didn't look at me, instead grabbing another fry. "I'll eat anything you make."

"You're so sweet," I said with a whimsical sigh. "I might get you to do some taste testing so I can figure it out... You haven't tried that much yet... Ahh! There's so much I want to do with you."

"We will do everything you like," he replied cheerfully.

I tapped him with my foot. "Have you had a good time so far?"

He nodded. "I enjoy your laughter."

I giggled. "Thank you, but I meant more like... have the rides been fun? What's your favorite ride so far?"

"Yes. My preferred ride is the one with the dark tunnel," he said.

My face heated up just as fast. "What, do you have a crush on me or something?" I playfully asked.

"No."

"Hey!" I snapped.

"What I feel for you is far more than simple infatuation. You are my true love," he said. The way he spoke sounded so simple and serious, like it was a fact I should simply be aware of.

"Metal...!" I wiggled in my seat and couldn't really look at him. "You're okay I guess..."

Oh, I felt a stare. I laughed, blushing more.

"I'm just kidding!" I said with a grin, bringing my focus back to his adorably grumpy face. "You're my true love, and you always will be. You're my favorite person and the best boyfriend in the world..." I reached over and touched the side of his face. His look softened as he put his hand on mine. He lovingly watched me...

He distracted me so much. I finished up my burger and we tackled the fries together. I didn't want to do anything too exciting after eating, so we went around to the area where there were tons of little games and prizes to win.

One of the booths had a jumbo chao plush holding a big heart and I really wanted it! As soon as I saw it, I gasped and ran over. Metal quickly caught up to me, looking at the chao plushie, then at the game itself. There were a bunch of cut-outs of different little animals and a small target way in the back, behind everything else. It looked really tough to get... But!

"I want to play!" I beamed. "What do I have to do to get this plushie?" I asked the guy at the booth, gesturing to the chao.

A man leaned over and gave us both a polite smile. "Five bucks is five tries. If you want to get that plushie, you're gonna have to hit the target at least once. How 'bout it?"

"Yes please!" I said, eagerly handing over the money. The man put out five balls for me to throw, and then the game started up. Cut-outs of the animals moved side to side and frequently obscured the target I wanted to hit.

Hmmm... I tilted my head and carefully aimed. I threw it-- dammit! One of the animals blocked it, the ball bouncing away! Hmph. I still had four tries. I aimed again, then again... One of those just completely whiffed the target. Okay, maybe I wasn't so good at this. I threw one more ball, but it was no use. I just had one left.

Metal crossed his arms and looked increasingly agitated as I threw them. He put his hand over mine when I touched the last ball, preventing me from picking it up. His head snapped to the guy running the booth.

"What kind of scam is this?" he hissed. "There is a minuscule window of opportunity to throw the ball, far below one percent. The math doesn't play out."

"Hey, buddy, it's just the game," the guy huffed back. "If ya lose, ya lose. If you play a few more times, though, you can get a consolation prize!"

"Do not address me in any form." He turned his head back to me, gaze serious. "Rosy, let me throw it."

Wh-why did I find this hot? I moved my hand away, letting him grab the ball. He clutched onto it and slightly raised his arm, staring at the booth.

...

He chucked it in an instant.

Ding! A bunch of lights flashed and the cut-outs stopped moving. I was stunned.

Metal glared at the man at the booth. "I win. You will give her the chao."

The man was pretty freaked out by Metal, but didn't say anything back to him. He cut the jumbo plushie loose and offered it to me. "Th-there ya go, lady," he mumbled.

"Yay! Thank you very much," I beamed. I kept walking, Metal having his arms around my side. He gave the man one final glare before we moved on. I blushed more. "You have a really good aim, huh?"

"You couldn't be organic to do that with those rules," he sneered.

I bumped my hip to his. "I kinda liked you telling off that guy..."

"You did...?" He cleared his throat, fighting his blush. "I didn't want you to waste your money. But... You looked happy throwing the ball. I did not want to ruin your fun either," he replied a bit softly.

"I did just wanna throw a ball for a bit... But I'm even more happy my boyfriend won something for me! It's just like in movies, hehe." I gave him a big smooch on the cheek. "Thank you~!"

He tilted his head at me, softly smiling. "You're welcome, Rosy."

After all that excitement, we went back to some more rides. We took another roller coaster-- the one that made me so excited I threw up the first time-- then we went on this thing that dropped us way down from the air. When I asked what Metal thought, he said it felt like combat. Hahah!

I had so much fun with him. He went along with whatever I wanted and I didn't think it annoyed him in the slightest. When he said he enjoyed my laughter or wanted me to have fun, I could tell he really meant it. He was having fun by watching me have fun... But I wanted him to have his own fun too! He was so used to thrills that the more violent rides or the more, uh, tender ones, were his preference.

We spent a lot of the day at the amusement park without any trouble. Everything was perfect... But there was one more thing to do.

"Um..." I shyly shifted. "So... There's one more ride I want to do, and then we'll go home. Okay?"

He nodded. "What would you like to do?"

I guided him over to the ferris wheel... We passed by it a few times while exploring around, but I wanted to save it for last. "It's a really slow ride, like the uh, the tunnel," I muttered.

He looked really interested. "A romantic ride...?"

"Yeah~"

There wasn't really a line, either. This type of ferris wheel had enclosed cars with windows all around to look at everything without feeling the chill of the air. We got in the lowest car; I put the plushie down on the seat across from us and got in first, Metal following me in afterwards. The door closed on us, then the ferris wheel moved a little to let other people in or out.

I held his hand and looked out the window for a brief moment. When I looked back at him, he appeared kinda bummed out. I frowned too.

"What's wrong, Metal?" I asked.

"I have a question for you," he said, watching me with concern.

"Hmm?"

He averted his eyes. "... Why is my true form your favorite one?"

I didn't expect him to ask a question like that. "I mean...!"

"I agree, it is the most handsome one. You have called me handsome and cute in the past as well. But I would like to know why you feel that way."

My eyes widened, and then I shrunk back, giggling. "Are you fishing for compliments?"

"I want to better understand what is physically attractive to you. I thought you would prefer a form more like yours."

"Geez...! The way you brought this up made me feel like something was wrong!" I huffed.

"What's wrong is that you have not yet answered me. You also said my base form was hot. Is my true form hot?" he asked.

God...! My heart was going to explode. He was really asking me like this?! "Y-yes! It's...!" My face was on fire. "I like what you made for yourself... It feels more 'you'. I think this form you're in now is super handsome, but I don't think you being more fleshy makes you better." I twirled my quills and couldn't look at him. "Your Neo form is like... Really cool, and pretty tall... Everything I like about your base form is there, like how warm you feel when we're together and... I uh... I think the belt-robe thing is kinda sexy..."

"Sexy," he repeated in thought. "That's a new word."

"D-don't make fun of me!" I exclaimed.

"I'm not. So, you like that I am menacing and imposing?"

I laughed a little. "You're not really menacing and imposing to me... Maybe to others you are."

"I am back to not understanding, then. But I am happy you find me attractive." He gave me a confident nod and had a calm smile.

"Your personality and everything you are makes you the most handsome," I said, putting my hands against his face. "Now it's your turn. What do you find attractive about me~?"

His eyes hooded and he gave me a serious stare I did not expect. I became a mess again... He put his arms around me and leaned in. "I find everything attractive about you. You are incredibly alluring to me... I can't ever stop thinking about you." He growled a little and leaned away. "It used to annoy me that you occupied my thoughts so heavily..." His look softened again. "Now I embrace it."

I wiggled in my seat. "Awww, Metal...~" I wanted to tease him, but he was just so cute...

"I am very fond of your face. Also, your body."

"Metal!!" I yelled, covering my face with my hands.

"What?" he asked like he didn't just say all that. "I also like your quills. They are cute." He touched them.

"M-my body?! That's really bold to say...!" I peeked at him and slowly lowered my hands. My train of thought was worse than his, so he probably didn't mean it in the way I took it. Still...!

"But it's true. I love all of you." He thought for a brief moment. "You are also sexy."

Steam must've been coming out of my ears or something because I was burning. He hooked one of his arms around me and pressed our chests together; he could feel my heart going crazy. He thought I was sexy? Me?

"Your behavior is extremely attractive," he said in a low tone that did something to me.

"Y...You...! You...!" I briefly didn't know what to do with myself. I looked him dead in the eye and took a deep breath. I clung to him and kissed him with all my romantic frustration. He eagerly returned my excitement, one arm still around me, while his other hand held the back of my head to keep me against him.

While we talked, the ferris wheel took us around a few times... and then we stopped at the very top. He lightly bumped me to the window and continued where we left off back at the tunnel ride.

...

"You really think I'm sexy?" I asked quietly in between kisses.

"Yes," he replied. "I assumed my behavior implied my attraction."

"It does! I'm just more used to people calling me cute..."

He nuzzled me, then kissed me again. "You're both."

I jumped him and changed our positions, kissing him while he pressed against the window instead. The ferris wheel started moving again, so we were about to be let out. We really needed to go home. I couldn't let our time get interrupted like this.

I got off of him right before the ride ended. I was pissed!!! I walked out the other side while he followed, carrying my jumbo plush this time.

"Why do you look angry?" he asked. He still looked pretty flustered from our making out.

"The ride is way too short!!!" I shouted.

He smirked at me. "I don't think any ride could be long enough."

I blushed more and took the plushie from his arms. "I want you to hold me as we walk out, please," I huffed.

He put one of his arms around me again, and together, we made our way out of the park. "Did you enjoy yourself?" he asked.

I had a hard time staying grumpy... I nodded and hugged the plushie tighter to myself. "I had so much fun. A real amusement park date was even better than I imagined!"

"I'm happy." He briefly let go of me to pet the back of my head, then he returned to the same hold as before.

Ahh...! I was happy too! I was so happy!

"Oh... I wanted to mention," Metal started again. I turned my head towards him. "I am not expected at the base as frequently... I won't be able to stay with you constantly since I have other things to do, but I can spend much more time with you."

"Really?!" This day was getting even better. "Good, because I'm not done with you yet!"

"That sounds like a threat," he said, amused. "I'm interested in what you want to do next, Rosy."

We had a thankfully uneventful walk home... our date went perfectly! Yesssss! My feeling was totally right! I hummed excitedly as I gave Metal the plushie again to unlock my door. We both went inside and I immediately slid my shoes off, collapsing onto my couch.

... Aaahhh!! I squealed to myself and hugged one of my couch pillows. I was tired from all we did today, but I still had so much energy.

Two metallic hands scooped me up and cradled me to a similarly metallic chest. My tail wagged like crazy!! I tossed the pillow and clung to Metal in his Neo form. I loved his unique warmth... "Ahh... I forgot how you kiss me in this form... Can you show me~?" I asked.

I felt him heat up even more. I loved that.

I was all over him as I thought I'd be, and because the day had blessed me so thoroughly, he was all over me. We spent a lot of time together... no interruptions, no unwanted guests, nothing like that. Just me and him.

I knew we would have to talk about the other robots soon... Honestly, probably tomorrow. But... I wanted to treasure this moment. Treasure this day.

I was cuddled up against him late at night... I dozed off a few times, but he shifted and I woke up. I grumbled and wiped my eyes, then cuddled onto him tighter.

"Rosy..." He sighed. "I need to leave for a little while."

"Noooo..."

"My leave is very temporary. I'll be back sometime tomorrow." He caressed my head. His whole body was so warm from being under the covers with me. I didn't want him to go... "Rest well. I love you," he said.

"Grrr... Fine..." I slowly shuffled out of bed and went for my lock box. "Let me give you something before you leave."

He got out of bed and watched me with interest. I walked over to him with the Ultimate Love Letter and another little envelope in my hand. I took a deep breath:

"Okay, so, we've established that you're the most romantic thing that exists ever, but don't count me out." I fidgeted a little and felt my face heat up as he stared at me. "I've given you a few mushy letters, I guess... But... I want you to have something that says in plain words just how much you mean to me. So..." I offered him the letter.

He gently took it from me and examined the outside of it. "Thank you, Rosy," he replied softly.

"When you read it, make sure you can, uh, reboot. Because my goal was to make you explode! Even with your upgrade!"

He laughed a little. "I understand."

"Good..." I offered him the envelope, blushing even more. "A-and open this when you miss me."

"What is this? Another letter?"

"No..." I cleared my throat. "I-it's... Um... You'll find out when you miss me! Okay, you can go now." I shooed him away.

He picked me up, kissed me, then rubbed our heads together. "I will open them when I am able," he said in a light tone. "And I will return to you as soon as I can. Have a good night, my Rosy."

"Goodnight, my Metal. I love you so much," I sighed, kissing him back. Ahh... I did already miss him, and he was still standing right here! I whined a little when he put me down. We kissed one more time, and then he walked out my bedroom door. He had to lean down so his spikes wouldn't hit the door, and the back of his robe flowed elegantly behind him. I grinned as I watched.

Ahh... At least our distance wouldn't be nearly as long this time.
