(10/29/2026) If you're here because I linked this page during the Ao3 outage: I have a habit of doing some last minute editing on Ao3 directly so there may some issues or small scene changes present in these drafts. I just wanted to have everything up asap! I'll make sure both versions match after the outage ends.
I write with markdown which this site doesn't translate, so stuff like italics might be missing. I intend to add them in time, but it's not a priority at the moment!
This page is still going through some clean up duty, so appearances aren't perfect. Everything should work, though!

For almost as long as Amy Rose knew Sonic, she received beautiful flowers at her doorstep. Believing them to be from Sonic, but still wanting to keep the mystery, she left a love letter for when he would deliver the next flower. Their tradition continued into adulthood and served as a foundation for their-- admittedly denied by him-- romance.
Despite loving their secret connection, Amy wants to finally move forward and be more honest about their relationship. She's stopped in her tracks when, the next time she opens her front door, Metal Sonic offers her a flower on his own.

Sonic Robotnik is the crowned jewel of all of Dr. Ivo Robotnik's accomplishments, not as his oldest son, but as proof that not even certain death can stop his own genius. The mechanical parts surrounding his chest are why he's alive at all and why he carries the nickname 'Metal'. His path has already been laid out for him: go to a college he finds miserable, get a degree he doesn't want, and work for his father to further boost his already insurmountable, environmentally damaging progress. With so little in his control, Metal finds freedom in only one thing: running.
Amy Rose doesn't come from much. Picked off the streets by a doting young woman with a daughter of her own, Amy discovered the love and warmth of a family that works together. Amy gets the chance to enroll in college so she can provide for her family lacking in fortune. Unfortunately, that means she enrolls in a major she completely hates. She finds solace in brightening others' lives, allowing her to forget that she has no real direction of her own.
They know of each other only through brief, unpleasant encounters around campus. Fate permanently brings their lives together when Amy witnesses an event Metal hopes no one would ever see.

Of course, being married doesn't prevent either of them from their ultimate goal of becoming the Victorious Spouse.

A young Amy Rose finishes celebrating her birthday with her best friends, leaving the rest of the day for her to explore and spend her birthday money! On the way, she finds Metal Sonic standing outside of a bakery, looking at a cake... Is it his birthday too? He looks pretty sad...
Well, Amy can't have that. She'll show Metal how to have fun and celebrate!
